El Lodge Taos
Used to say "Elk" on the gate till the "K" fell off.
The founding team...aka: Just a couple of banged-up ski instructors.

Joseph Dixon
Landscape and irrigation professional, certified ski instructor, carpentry. Certificate in Desert Landscaping from Phoenix College. See his LinkedIn profile. The best-damned skier in Taos bar none and knows every botanical in the forest. A persistent perfectionist who knows all the trades who does everything to an artisanal level. If you want something done and done right he's the man. One of our goals throughout the pending rehabilitation of the property is to restore rather than replace and adaptive reuse. They say the greenest building is one that already exists. Adaptive reuse is itself considered sustainable because of the reduction in building materials needed to transform a space. He's lived on the property for over a year and knows more about it than Steve in his 3 years. Experienced in horticulture, irrigation system design and construction, integrated pest management (IPM), landscaping, and hardscaping, and knows all the good fishing holes and all the offroad 4x4 trails and hands down the best frontside carver who's ever blown past me on a black diamond run! In his spare time, he repurposes anything and everything specializing in bringing new life to wood. We will be working together on this as well as two other ventures down the road.

Buddy of the open range
Came out of Jenne's brood and was born on the day Steve's mother passed...coincidence? Plays well with kids and adults but not other dogs, is rather spoiled rotten, and has never been on a leash except for truckstops while on the road. Dives face first into brambles after rabbits and rides shotgun in the Exploder and sucks up to girls without shame. A mixed breed from a mixed liter so we just say he's a "New Mexico Brown Dog" when asked. One of those forever-puppy personalities that is not shy about giving his opinion on any subject whatsoever. Pees on car tires and eats dead things with impunity. Favorite snack food wood.
